Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality have both taken many advancements during the recent years, with headsets, glasses, treadmills and all these things- while still a tad bit expensive for more mainstream use- having more and more steps taken with them to not only improve them, but also have them reach a more casual audience.
While not quite applicable for normal use given its size, the Virtusphere picked up a bit of traction with it "allowing users to be fully immersed into an interactive virtual experience."". In essence, the entire contraption is a large hamster ball resting on a platform that allows it to spin in place, so that a person can move in any direction practically freely. It consists of 72 plastic segments, 11 metal supports with wheels and some hardware to allow for the experience, along with some sensors, headset, and pc.
The Contraption itself Is already being used for both recreational and educational use as well as military use. It can be found in VR parks, museums, universities, and military bases. I's able to run a variety of programs that allow for a fully immersed experience, with some focuses being put in gaming where the player is able to walk, run, and explore in a 3D environment relatively unhindered. Educational, allowing people to experience worlds and things from around the earth and beyond from just inside the sphere. And military use, allowing trainees and such to experience a variety of scenarios from inside of the sphere.
